Stomping Grounds is owned by James Haswell and Bethany Bradley Haswell, whose combination of talent and experience creates a retail shop like no other.  At Stomping Grounds, our appreciation of things antique and retro meets forward thinking sensibilities to create a fun blend of modern and vintage.

2 James Haswell: grew up in Sherburne, NY and attended Sherburne-Earlville Central School. He went on to earn a BA in Psychology from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. He moved to Geneva in 2004 and claims to love it more each day (hence, the Geneva tattoo on his forearm.) He has worked various jobs ranging from waiting tables, being a student aide, software engineering, owning his own café, and more. James is passionate about technology and problem solving. He is a jack-of-all-trades at Stomping Grounds. When not furthering the Stomping Grounds cause, he tries to squeeze in as much guitar and video game playing as possible.

3 Bethany Bradley Haswell: graduated from Wayne Central High School in Ontario, NY. She has degrees in English Literature and Philosophy from Nazareth College of Rochester. Beth joined the Stomping Grounds team with an extensive background in the antiquarian book and paper trade. This experience supplies the shop with a fun and ever changing selection of beautiful and interesting old books, antique postcards, and vintage paper. James and  Bethany have a daughter, Lillian, who also “works” at the shop.
