Exceptionally hard to find Susan Warner publication. First edition with six pages of publisher's ads following text, dated "Jan., 1865." Bit of tenderness at the front hinge, but a generally sturdy original brown cloth binding. Spine cloth shows heavy wear with several chips (see image). A few loose pieces of spine cloth have been secured with archivally sound bookbinder's glue. Light internal soil with some margin dampstaining. Fully legible and complete. Heavier discoloration to front end papers.
