Yes. We're moving again.
The building we rent at 22 Castle Street is for sale. For awhile now we've been wondering what the future of Stomping Grounds would look like if our building sold. We weren't quite sure what we wanted to do; how best to move forward. When an opportunity to relocate the business to Seneca Street came our way, we decided to go for it.
The Seneca Street location, formerly Shari's Derma Technologies, is just a block away from our current Castle Street home. It's close to downtown parking and other retail shops. Its size, though smaller than our current location, is more appropriate to our needs. Its display windows are huge and wonderful! And the timing of this opportunity, coming right at the end of our lease at 22 Castle, is ideal.
The building at 41 Seneca Street is currently broken up into many small rooms that Shari used for spa and skin care services. Our plans include lots of renovation. Every nook and cranny of the building will be touched, and we're excited to make 41 Seneca Street feel entirely fresh and beautiful. The new Stomping Grounds will continue to offer fine art printing and custom picture framing. It will carry many of the gift items you have come to love - candles, jewelry, cards, vintage inspired art and lots of books. In addition, we plan to bring in some brand new surprises.
To help make Stomping Grounds' transition easier, we're hosting a giant moving sale from January 9th to 31st. We hope to sell as much excess furniture and merchandise as we can in the weeks ahead. There will be markdowns on books, cards, art supplies and gifts. Tables, chairs, bookshelves, rugs, lamps, prints and picture frames will be deeply discounted. Seasonal decorations, kooky items we've used in former window displays, office equipment and cafe supplies – all sorts of odds and ends will be available for purchase. We'd rather sell it than move it, so pop down before we say goodbye to our current home.
